About.
I am a visually impaired sketch artist who mostly creates downtown scenes from around Minnesota in pen, ink, pencil and watercolor. I started my downtown series in 2020 as a way to explore places I am familiar with but also to capture details in my work that I cannot see without a magnifier or zoomed in photograph. This process of drawing downtown scenes in more detail than I can see in real life is a way of understanding the world around me while also being relatable to the people who live and work on the areas I have drawn. In addition to drawing downtown scenes, I also have made a Year in Review, a Photoshop Ghost Series, a Window Series, and the occasional drawing of a nature scene. Recently, I started the process of creating more accessible pieces that visually impaired individuals, who are generally excluded from the visual art world can enjoy through texture.
